A Business Needs The Best SEO Service

SEO Great Reputation 300x199 A Business Needs The Best SEO ServiceIf one has a business presence on the web then it is paramount that it uses the best SEO service available.  That being said, here are some things to look out for when searching for one.

A great SEO service is one that stands by you every step of the way.  They won’t cut and run once the job is done.  Making sure they apply the smartest and most efficient SEO service depends a lot on what you do in concert with them.

First of all an SEO service is going to ask you a lot of questions and vice versa.  This is part of the evaluation process both sides should take enthusiasm in. Reason being is because no two company websites should be alike and one’s unique business signature should resonate on the site and the SEO service should recognize it or emphasize its importance.  An SEO service will analyze what you alredy have or will walk with you as you develop your site giving tips and such along the way.  This is vital in that it lays the foundation of work well done and nothing left unfinished yet enough room for future improvement.

A website shouldn’t be a static thing.  Optimizing it along with its changes is what a good SEO service should do.  They know that the number of staff members of your business may increase as well as services you provide and that your market may expand or diversify.  New technologies and techniques may emerge and you’ll want that information on your site and the search engines to know about it.  The seo experts are fully aware of these issues and will strategize with you to ensure you capitalize on each contingency.  They may introduce you to methods and terms you’re unfamiliar with so you’ll have to do your own due diligence to maintain your education and responsibilities.

Simple things done to a website can drastically improve your search engine results and these may include:

Simple design.  Keep It Simple is a catch phrase that embodies what experts on the web use all the time it seems.  It has its benefits as your clientele want information not wildly elaborate websites with all the bells and whistles and no valuable content.

Easy navigation.  Finding one’s way around the website allows for the customers to see what you have, where to contact you and other vital information.  Not having a well navigable website means you offer confusion and frustration not service and education.

Get organic.  Etting organic traffic is the best.  It means the people finding your site are interested directly in what you have and the SEO service you choose should be well aware of the importance of organic traffic and how to gather it.  Anything less is money and time wasted.

Again, an SEO service isn’t one that will cut and run after a day or two.  They won’t make grandiose claims of getting your site to the top spot on Google in an hour or any other such nonsense.  SEO takes time and planning and has to grow.  Anyone or service that claims otherwise is lying through their teeth and are only out to make a fast buck and leave you dangling on the web.  Remember, fine SEO service takes expertise, strategy, planning, great communication and responsibility.

Check customer satisfaction and don’t fall for fake reviews.  You’ll know from the start if the company offering SEO service is legit or not by the way they conduct themselves.  Pushy, arrogant, grandiose behavior are all indicators of a scammer.  Keep on your toes and you’ll find the right SEO service for your business.

Doing SEO The Right Way

People try to do SEO on their own and some are pros and some aren’t.  There are those that apply SEO ethically and some that do not.  Knowing the inside and outside of SEO is a major plus in today’s need for website traffic and knowing what Google penalizes you for is the first step.

Doing SEO The Right Way Tips

First of all don’t try to reinvent the wheel.  Google’s algorithms change often but there are certain fundamentals that remain stable.  It’s because of so many people and companies that try to fool Google and don’t do SEO properly.  There’s always someone trying to outwit Google and goof up things for everyone else. They’ll pepper the web with their silly and contrived websites loaded with keywords and keyphrases in total disregard for SEO.  They’ll have irresponsible backlinking and all sorts of things that are despicable to say the least.  When Google finally busts them they end up getting penalized so badly that they have to start all over again.

The regular people doing SEO can often fall into these traps by buying SEO courses or attending webinars that aren’t all that reputable.  They’ll apply these techniques and then Google comes down on them like a pile of bricks.  This is why people need to study SEO from official Google and Bing sites.  There are plenty of tutorials and forums around where ethical approaches can be found.  The process now involves a methodical application of scanning a website and its associated sites like reviews, testimonials, and fans.

There are other criteria but Google and the other search engines keep these close to their chests.  It’s because if they were uncovered the balance of power would shift drastically.  People rely on Google for that traffic and having the right SEO approach.

Remember, trying to circumvent the ethical approach to SEO means sooner or later you’ll get slammed by the search engines and if you’re representing a client and their traffic drops and their sites get booted you can find yourself sitting in court answering a lot of questions you don’t want to answer.  It’s because no one likes a crook and although puffing up your website and doing SEO unethically isn’t a crime, it is a misrepresentation and underhanded to say the least.

Yes there’s competition and there are so many experts out there but that doesn’t mean you have to stoop to the level they do to get over.  Their path leads to major losses in capital and reputation they won’t get out of it anytime soon.  So keep your chin up and study from the honorable SEO experts and you’ll do alright.

Now that’s been said it’s time to move on to studying SEO and seeing what you come up with.  You may well find that you’ll find a way to optimize your SEO that others haven’t come up with and put you way out on top.  That’s what’s cool with SEO.  You can stand on the fundamentals and experiment and come up with something new and improved.  It’s just a matter of getting in there with the right professional attitude.

Local SEO is Valuable Tool for Driving Business

local seo 300x225 Local SEO is Valuable Tool for Driving Business

Local SEO is very important to small businesses that rely on local customers to drive their bottom line. It makes them seen and makes them an authority within their industry.

Today, it is difficult for a business to survive without an online presence. With a very large online audience to target and with approximately 78% of consumers utilizing the Internet to make informed buying decisions, local SEO is now more important than ever.

Some of the things that consumers look for are a business with a website, contact information on that website, and content that tells them whether or not the products and services that the business offers are right for them. In order for them to find the website, SEO is needed so the website is indexed properly within search engine results. When indexed properly, it can be found and visitors are more likely to become customers.

Here is why local SEO is so important to every small business:

  1. Every day, potential customers are searching the Internet for local businesses that offer what they are looking for.
  2. Search engines are very friendly to the small business, but the small business will only be seen if effective SEO practices are executed.
  3. Mobile search is now a very big thing with so many individuals using their mobile devices to do business searches on the go.

How to Hire a Quality SEO Firm

how to seo 02 300x239 How to Hire a Quality SEO FirmSEO and SEM firms come in all shapes and sizes. As a client, you need to know which sets each one apart from one another so you can find the right type of firm for your business. This guide will help you identify the different types of SEO and SEM firms so you can find one that matches your needs and objectives.

First, the different types of search engine optimization and marketing firms can be categorized based on their industry focus or whether or not they are generalized. They can also be categorized based on whether they are entry-level, mid-level, or high end. Their service type, such as specialty or jack-of-all-trades, is also an important consideration.

Industry Focus

Specialist firms can be ideal when you work in an industry that is well established. This is because the firm will most likely have a lot of experience in that industry. For a business that is more specialized in itself, the option of finding a specialized firm may be a very limited one. In this case, you can opt for a generalist firm that focuses on multiple industries.

Level of Service

The level of service tends to coincide with cost. Remember that you get what you pay for, but that doesn’t mean that a high-end SEO or SEM firm is going to be the solution. For instance, you may have a business that only works in one or two cities. This means that there is no need for you to hire a high-end firm for thousands of dollars per month. You can find a firm that offers great services and a one-size fits-all approach for just a few hundred dollars per month. It is ideal to steer clear of firms that charge less than $500 per month, although there may be rare exceptions, such as those that will work with you based on budget. However, that may mean shaving some services down.

Service Type

Some SEO and SEM firms do it all. They do content marketing, link building, pay-per-click management, and more. Others focus on just one thing. If you need one thing, then the company that specializes in that one form of marketing will work. If you wish to have more than one time of marketing performed, then bundling services may be right for you. Once you weigh these three factors, you can then identify your potential matches and compare in order to find the match.

What You Shouldn’t Do for SEO Inbound Links – Part 2

A few weeks ago, we began to discuss the importance of SEO inbound links and why you should pay careful attention to them when developing your site. Even if you’re just revamping your site, you need to pay attention as doing these links wrong could have serious repercussions for how your site ranks on the popular search engines. Doing these links wrong could cause your site to be bumped onto the back pages of search results, meaning no one will be able to find your site. And that can’t be good for business.

We already talked about inbound links in general terms, so let’s get down to some specifics. If your site has widget links, it could get punished. That is, if an external site links to yours using keyword text in the widget. Do this too much and it could look suspicious like you’re building those inbound links yourself. If the links aren’t natural, it’s likely your site will be punished.

Another thing that could penalize your site is paid links. Having links from websites that look very spammy to yours could call into question the validity of your site. It draws attention to how you build links, which could make it so your site is bumped off of its rightful place in the search engines. This is incredibly frustrating and could leave you with a site that no one can find. That’s definitely not good for business.

Sometimes, the problem inbound SEO links aren’t your fault at all and rather are something another site created in an effort to boost their own site reputation. Though it’s not your fault when this happens, it’s still your responsibility to take note of such things and monitor who is linking to you and why. That’s the only way to ensure the inbound linking on your site is legitimate and won’t negatively effect your ranking.

All of this might seem a bit confusing, but don’t let it get to you. This is a standard part of SEO management and you just need to be mindful of it if you wish to achieve the best rank possible. More importantly, you need to be mindful of it so you avoid negatively impacting your rank. A lot of hard work goes into building your site up so it shows up high on Google’s search results. Repairing any damage caused to that could take a while to fix.

Google set to penalize the Pirates, and who else?

seo 02 300x200 Google set to penalize the Pirates, and who else?Google have announced they aim to penalize those with content that is used illegally and infringes copyright in the latest important SEO algorithm change.

It seems like a good idea in principle, assuming you believe that copyright infringement is wrong and should be discouraged, the idea is that if a website has a large number of copyright infringement removal notices against it they will be punished with lower rankings and it could well be that links from these sites will also loose trust. Google say that they will only consider valid copyright removal notices but how they will tell if a notice is valid or malicious is another matter.

Previously Google used the Copyright removal requests they received only to remove specific pages that showed or linked to copyrighted materials.

Some suggested that Google’s haste to introduce Penguin meant they didn’t consider issues such as malicious linking to adversely affect rival’s rankings due to SEO algorithm changes. Now some feel they may be about to do the same again with the announcement that their search Algorithm changes again this week and copyright removal notices will now affect rankings for entire sites. This means for a start you need to watch out if your blog for example is within a domain that others may use for more nefarious purposes.

The SEO Algorithm change was announced by Amit Singhal who says he hopes the change will ‘help users find legitimate, quality sources of content more easily’ the copyright removals notices received by Google now number around 4.3 million a month and they can be submitted by anyone who claims to be a copyright owner suggesting there could be misuse though each removal notice is processed before use.

One area where a lot of people are especially concerned is with fair use policy; copyrighted material can be used for fair use such as to illustrate a point where no other material could be used instead, this therefore includes quotes and short sound and video clips as well as unique images. These cases are often disagreed on though and often websites and other publications will go to court and often win: from now on they may have already have been penalized by Google; free speech is according to some at threat.

To give an example the new SEO Algorithm may pick up a political news site where leaked documents are shown on a regular basis: the site may claim fair use but several different politicians may use copyright removal notices, enough for the SEO algorithm on Google to penalize a legitimate website.

Then there is the fact that Google own and run one of the biggest copyright infringing sites there is: Youtube. Now Youtube do respond to Copyright notices, though not always immediately, how long will Google give a website then to take down copyrighted content to avoid being penalized or will they penalize their own websites as well? Others haven’t been slow to comment on the fact that Youtube may be the biggest beneficiary of all from other free entertainment sources being pushed down the results.

Google will most likely deal with copyright in a level headed way but the fear of such a powerful company getting involved in what some see as legal matters to be dealt with by the courts can’t help but raise a few eyebrows.

Inbound Links, the good the bad and the ugly, latest from Google

seo 01 300x200 Inbound Links, the good the bad and the ugly, latest from GoogleLets take a look at the latest post of inbound links from Matt Cutts and see what it means for your website in the post-penguin world.

Google’s original link messages as Matt refers to them are known by many website owners who used black hat techniques in the past and also those who didn’t, or didn’t realize their SEO company had.

These messages are notifications of unnatural link patterns and usually are sent when a site has many of these types of inbound links or a few in particular from link networks that Google has identified as being especially spammy. The action you should take if you get these original messages is quite clear, get rid of as many of the links as possible and then submit your site for reconsideration.

Matt Cutts though has clarified Google’s position on sites that charge to have links taken down or simply won’t take them down, you should it seems either do reconsideration request with the details, mention it in the Google webmaster forum an hope its picked up or do a spam report: how long it will take to see your trust return is unclear.

With the original link messages you probably had your Google trust level drop significantly or you could have had it disappear completely. With the new link messages you will get told of less severe cases of unnatural linking patterns and of individual links that Google would like to see gone.  These links don’t affect your sites overall trust but trust of these links will be low and potentially the trust of the specific page that they point to will fall. They are then worth getting rid of still but it isn’t as urgent; of course if Google keep finding these links it could lead to a more major drop in trust so it is a good idea to deal with these new link messages as you get them.

What kind of inbound links are they then that Google is likely to be notifying you of in these new messages?

One type is widget links, those with keyword rich anchor text, which Matt Cutts has spoken about before, will it seems be seen as spam and you should now be working on building inbound links with anchor text that has different terms each time.

Then there are paid links, Google identify sites that sell links in a few ways, sometimes they will suspect them because of where the links are placed and when the link is on the same place on each page, Google also identify pages where links are advertised for sale including link directories that only offer paid for inclusion and ignore these inbound links in most cases.

Google can also identify blog comment spam where the same messages are posted on multiple sites or where they have nothing to do with the blog post and are stuffed with keywords and these are another type of link they may send this message for.

As well as removing these links if possible it is important to check what the problem with the link was and track where they came from: if your SEO or people in your company are creating these links they need to be stopped.
