Do It Yourself Or Hire An SEO Agency

Do It Yourself Or Hire An SEO AgencyEveryone likes to save money, especially when you own a small business or are highly conscious of your operating budget.  That being said, SEO is a service that some feel they can do it themselves, whereby others recommend hiring a service. Whatever path you choose you need to know the pluses and minuses of these decisions.

Do it yourself SEO means that you’ve got to have a sense of not only the present technologies and techniques to do so, but also the trends and statistics and ethics of the present day industry.  Not only that but knowing your SEO history so you’ll be aware of how the practice has changed over the years.  All this data includes both theory and practical and making a mistake can cost you dearly.  If you think you know enough to do your own SEO then you probably don’t know enough.

This is because SEO is an ever changing landscape.  What worked last month might not be applicable today.  You have to be on top of the SEO game 24/7 or you will make errors, costly errors.

Hiring a SEO company, on the other hand doesn’t guarantee success, but it does increase your chances of such.  A solid SEO company is always on top of their game. They don’t make absurd promises like they’ll get your products at the top of the search engines.  No, they’ll explain carefully what they do and what realistic goals can be met.  It doesn’t happen overnight, only in those rare occasions does it do so like with breaking news or breaking hot topics, but even then, it requires solid SEO application that perhaps only a SEO company can provide.

These SEO companies can be costly.  On average the small time packages of services will cost about $500 per month.  The high end services will run you into the thousands of dollars, $10,000 is not out of the picture on average.  This s why you need to look at your budget and goals, real and potential profits to determine what the best investment is for you.

If you can’t afford the big bucks now, not all is lost.  You can follow a simple strategy by which you start off with the $500 package and after several months, upgrade to more SEO expenditures until you’re making enough of a visible and solid profit to justify ramping up the SEO budget.

That would be the progressive approach and perhaps the most sound.  This way you can check the statistics as you go along to see precisely where your dollar is going.

Being cautious is the best step.  Searching for a quality SEO company is second only to your educating yourself regarding SEO.  Don’t make the mistake of thinking that just because you’ve read some of the latest SEO info that you’re going to figure it out on your own.  It’s a good bet that the minute you’ve read about an SEO procedure, it’s already old.  SEO companies, the real deal companies, spend a lot of time and money on research an development.  They’re constantly on the hunt for the next best tactic and technologies.

So if you’re debating on whether to do it yourself SEO or hiring a SEO company, think with a level head and sharp eye on your operating capital.  Weigh carefully your realistic goals and confidence and you should end up making the right decision.

Some Reasons Your SEO Campaign Might Lose

Some-Reasons-Your-SEO-Campaign-Might-LoseMany people launch their websites or blogs with all the good intentions of doing well.  However down the line they suddenly realize things aren’t going according to plan.  They start to fret and sometimes miss the key indicators that should make a SEO campaign successful.  If you’re missing these indicators then you’re bound to lose.  Let’s look at some of the successful things you should be doing and the less successful you should be changing.

First of all, are you looking at things realistically.  Are you hoping for millions of hits for a product or service that just isn’t int hat range of need or want by otters.  Is there so much competition to deal with that you’ll have to fight your way through them.  You have to look at what you intend to do and how you’ll achieve it and work your SEO campaign within those parameters.  Don’t overshoot things by spending tons of money on ads and so forth that will drive unnecessary amounts of traffic to your site burning up bandwidth and not converting to sales.  Seek out organic traffic, traffic that is pertinent to the main subject of your service or product.  Fine tuning these things leads to a better winning situation with SEO.

Keywords?  Are your keywords pertinent to your goods and services or are they jumbled up with other unnecessary topics that will throw surfers off?  If your service is pointed to plumbing in New York city, then you’ll need to have those keywords that are only focused on that topic.  Arranging the keywords around is okay as long as plumbing, and New York city are highlighted in the keywords and copy on the page.  The URL, headers all should have these keywords in them in one form or another.  This is where success or failure begins and ends.  Don’t stuff keywords all over the place but put them in strategic spots so the search engines can tell your site is legit and not some scam site.

Professionalism in your website’s design is another major point.  Is your site designed for easy navigation, pointing to the right topics, designed with the right graphics necessary to attract and retain a surfer?  This is most important in that surfers don’t need to be confused.  They want the real deal  up front and will leave your site if it’s full of absurd graphics, videos, and bells and whistles.  Being conservative in design is the first step.  As traffic and sales increase you might venture into a bit more with a testimonial page, maybe video showcasing your products and skills.

The copy is another major point for a successful SEO campaign. If the copywriting on your site is lousy, grammatically incorrect, not only will customers flee but the new search engine algorithms will notice it and give you the lower ratings.  This would call for more SEO damage control that could be costly as well as miserable.  Don’t go for cheap.  Hire a professional copywriter in your niche and make sure they know SEO.  This way you won’t have to battle from the ground floor up and won’t have to do expensive damage control later.

Add to all this, you’ll need to check your traffic data and statistics. Look for when good traffic that converted hit and when it did not.  Do your due detective diligence and see if a new post on your site brought in profitable traffic or was it a new picture of a new product.  Whatever is successful in SEO you leave alone or rinse and repeat it.  Following these basic guidelines one should see improvement in the short and long term.

A Business Needs The Best SEO Service

The Best SEO ServiceIf one has a business presence on the web then it is paramount that it uses the best SEO service available.  That being said, here are some things to look out for when searching for one.

A great SEO service is one that stands by you every step of the way.  They won’t cut and run once the job is done.  Making sure they apply the smartest and most efficient SEO service depends a lot on what you do in concert with them.

First of all an SEO service is going to ask you a lot of questions and vice versa.  This is part of the evaluation process both sides should take enthusiasm in. Reason being is because no two company websites should be alike and one’s unique business signature should resonate on the site and the SEO service should recognize it or emphasize its importance.  An SEO service will analyze what you alredy have or will walk with you as you develop your site giving tips and such along the way.  This is vital in that it lays the foundation of work well done and nothing left unfinished yet enough room for future improvement.

A website shouldn’t be a static thing.  Optimizing it along with its changes is what a good SEO service should do.  They know that the number of staff members of your business may increase as well as services you provide and that your market may expand or diversify.  New technologies and techniques may emerge and you’ll want that information on your site and the search engines to know about it.  The seo experts are fully aware of these issues and will strategize with you to ensure you capitalize on each contingency.  They may introduce you to methods and terms you’re unfamiliar with so you’ll have to do your own due diligence to maintain your education and responsibilities.

Simple things done to a website can drastically improve your search engine results and these may include:

Simple design.  Keep It Simple is a catch phrase that embodies what experts on the web use all the time it seems.  It has its benefits as your clientele want information not wildly elaborate websites with all the bells and whistles and no valuable content.

Easy navigation.  Finding one’s way around the website allows for the customers to see what you have, where to contact you and other vital information.  Not having a well navigable website means you offer confusion and frustration not service and education.

Get organic.  Etting organic traffic is the best.  It means the people finding your site are interested directly in what you have and the SEO service you choose should be well aware of the importance of organic traffic and how to gather it.  Anything less is money and time wasted.

Again, an SEO service isn’t one that will cut and run after a day or two.  They won’t make grandiose claims of getting your site to the top spot on Google in an hour or any other such nonsense.  SEO takes time and planning and has to grow.  Anyone or service that claims otherwise is lying through their teeth and are only out to make a fast buck and leave you dangling on the web.  Remember, fine SEO service takes expertise, strategy, planning, great communication and responsibility.

Check customer satisfaction and don’t fall for fake reviews.  You’ll know from the start if the company offering SEO service is legit or not by the way they conduct themselves.  Pushy, arrogant, grandiose behavior are all indicators of a scammer.  Keep on your toes and you’ll find the right SEO service for your business.

Doing SEO The Right Way

People try to do SEO on their own and some are pros and some aren’t.  There are those that apply SEO ethically and some that do not.  Knowing the inside and outside of SEO is a major plus in today’s need for website traffic and knowing what Google penalizes you for is the first step.

Doing SEO optimization the right way

Doing SEO The Right Way Tips

First of all don’t try to reinvent the wheel.  Google’s algorithms change often but there are certain fundamentals that remain stable.  It’s because of so many people and companies that try to fool Google and don’t do SEO properly.  There’s always someone trying to outwit Google and goof up things for everyone else. They’ll pepper the web with their silly and contrived websites loaded with keywords and keyphrases in total disregard for SEO.  They’ll have irresponsible backlinking and all sorts of things that are despicable to say the least.  When Google finally busts them they end up getting penalized so badly that they have to start all over again.

The regular people doing SEO can often fall into these traps by buying SEO courses or attending webinars that aren’t all that reputable.  They’ll apply these techniques and then Google comes down on them like a pile of bricks.  This is why people need to study SEO from official Google and Bing sites.  There are plenty of tutorials and forums around where ethical approaches can be found.  The process now involves a methodical application of scanning a website and its associated sites like reviews, testimonials, and fans.

There are other criteria but Google and the other search engines keep these close to their chests.  It’s because if they were uncovered the balance of power would shift drastically.  People rely on Google for that traffic and having the right SEO approach.

Remember, trying to circumvent the ethical approach to SEO means sooner or later you’ll get slammed by the search engines and if you’re representing a client and their traffic drops and their sites get booted you can find yourself sitting in court answering a lot of questions you don’t want to answer.  It’s because no one likes a crook and although puffing up your website and doing SEO unethically isn’t a crime, it is a misrepresentation and underhanded to say the least.

Yes there’s competition and there are so many experts out there but that doesn’t mean you have to stoop to the level they do to get over.  Their path leads to major losses in capital and reputation they won’t get out of it anytime soon.  So keep your chin up and study from the honorable SEO experts and you’ll do alright.

Now that’s been said it’s time to move on to studying SEO and seeing what you come up with.  You may well find that you’ll find a way to optimize your SEO that others haven’t come up with and put you way out on top.  That’s what’s cool with SEO.  You can stand on the fundamentals and experiment and come up with something new and improved.  It’s just a matter of getting in there with the right professional attitude.

Local SEO is Valuable Tool for Driving Business

Local SEO helps Small Business to succeed

Local SEO is very important to small businesses that rely on local customers to drive their bottom line. It makes them seen and makes them an authority within their industry.

Today, it is difficult for a business to survive without an online presence. With a very large online audience to target and with approximately 78% of consumers utilizing the Internet to make informed buying decisions, local SEO is now more important than ever.

Some of the things that consumers look for are a business with a website, contact information on that website, and content that tells them whether or not the products and services that the business offers are right for them. In order for them to find the website, SEO is needed so the website is indexed properly within search engine results. When indexed properly, it can be found and visitors are more likely to become customers.

Here is why local SEO is so important to every small business:

  1. Every day, potential customers are searching the Internet for local businesses that offer what they are looking for.
  2. Search engines are very friendly to the small business, but the small business will only be seen if effective SEO practices are executed.
  3. Mobile search is now a very big thing with so many individuals using their mobile devices to do business searches on the go.

How to Hire a Quality SEO Firm

How to Hire a Quality SEO FirmSEO and SEM firms come in all shapes and sizes. As a client, you need to know which sets each one apart from one another so you can find the right type of firm for your business. This guide will help you identify the different types of SEO and SEM firms so you can find one that matches your needs and objectives.

First, the different types of search engine optimization and marketing firms can be categorized based on their industry focus or whether or not they are generalized. They can also be categorized based on whether they are entry-level, mid-level, or high end. Their service type, such as specialty or jack-of-all-trades, is also an important consideration.

Industry Focus

Specialist firms can be ideal when you work in an industry that is well established. This is because the firm will most likely have a lot of experience in that industry. For a business that is more specialized in itself, the option of finding a specialized firm may be a very limited one. In this case, you can opt for a generalist firm that focuses on multiple industries.

Level of Service

The level of service tends to coincide with cost. Remember that you get what you pay for, but that doesn’t mean that a high-end SEO or SEM firm is going to be the solution. For instance, you may have a business that only works in one or two cities. This means that there is no need for you to hire a high-end firm for thousands of dollars per month. You can find a firm that offers great services and a one-size fits-all approach for just a few hundred dollars per month. It is ideal to steer clear of firms that charge less than $500 per month, although there may be rare exceptions, such as those that will work with you based on budget. However, that may mean shaving some services down.

Service Type

Some SEO and SEM firms do it all. They do content marketing, link building, pay-per-click management, and more. Others focus on just one thing. If you need one thing, then the company that specializes in that one form of marketing will work. If you wish to have more than one time of marketing performed, then bundling services may be right for you. Once you weigh these three factors, you can then identify your potential matches and compare in order to find the match.

What You Shouldn’t Do for SEO Inbound Links – Part 2

A few weeks ago, we began to discuss the importance of SEO inbound links and why you should pay careful attention to them when developing your site. Even if you’re just revamping your site, you need to pay attention as doing these links wrong could have serious repercussions for how your site ranks on the popular search engines. Doing these links wrong could cause your site to be bumped onto the back pages of search results, meaning no one will be able to find your site. And that can’t be good for business.

We already talked about inbound links in general terms, so let’s get down to some specifics. If your site has widget links, it could get punished. That is, if an external site links to yours using keyword text in the widget. Do this too much and it could look suspicious like you’re building those inbound links yourself. If the links aren’t natural, it’s likely your site will be punished.

Another thing that could penalize your site is paid links. Having links from websites that look very spammy to yours could call into question the validity of your site. It draws attention to how you build links, which could make it so your site is bumped off of its rightful place in the search engines. This is incredibly frustrating and could leave you with a site that no one can find. That’s definitely not good for business.

Sometimes, the problem inbound SEO links aren’t your fault at all and rather are something another site created in an effort to boost their own site reputation. Though it’s not your fault when this happens, it’s still your responsibility to take note of such things and monitor who is linking to you and why. That’s the only way to ensure the inbound linking on your site is legitimate and won’t negatively effect your ranking.

All of this might seem a bit confusing, but don’t let it get to you. This is a standard part of SEO management and you just need to be mindful of it if you wish to achieve the best rank possible. More importantly, you need to be mindful of it so you avoid negatively impacting your rank. A lot of hard work goes into building your site up so it shows up high on Google’s search results. Repairing any damage caused to that could take a while to fix.
