Good news for businesses, bad news for established SEO companies the industry is becoming more competitive and the shortage of SEO professionals is beginning to be filled, though gurus with more than a few years experience are still in the minority.
Affordable SEO then may become a reality for many more small businesses and not by trying to do it yourself, and often getting it not quite right.
For some time if you wanted an affordable SEO company you would look to outsource off shore, quite possibly to India or the Philippines, there are a lot of very good SEO professionals in these countries but there are some very poor ones as well; now more than ever a bad SEO company can do more harm than good following the Google Penguin update.
Many people who opted for cheap SEO services in the past from offshore companies have now seen their sites penalized by Google Penguin and they have no comeback, it is much better to use a US SEO company but price has always been an issue.
In terms of the time SEO takes to complete it shouldn’t cost as much as it has in the past or even does now, SEO companies though know they are competing against other types of marketing and they understand the relative value of SEO so charge as much as they do.
A $1,000 a month on SEO may seem a lot but it probably is better value than the same spent on newspaper advertising or another type of traditional media advertising.
If there is a shortage of good US based SEO professionals then SEO companies can carry on charging the amounts they do and it is larger companies who can afford to commit to several thousand dollars of SEO per month. Currently though prices are coming down as more and more SEO professionals come on to the market, some are relatively inexperienced but may have taken one of the growing number of courses in SEO. Other Affordable SEO professionals though who have just set up in business or as freelancers are those who have worked in big companies full time doing their SEO and digital marketing but seeing the amount that other freelance SEO professionals have decided to jump ship: this means a number of experienced SEO professionals are currently available and because they are looking to build up clients need to ensure they offer affordable SEO.
Ideally choose someone local to you so if you do have problems in the future you will be able to get in contact; another advantage of those SEO professionals that have come from a corporate environment is they are likely to have only ever used White Hat SEO. Often what look like Affordable SEO companies even if they are based in the US are actually using the latest black hat techniques for quick results but when Google get wise you could see your site wiped from Google’s results: whoever you do choose for your SEO avoid paying based on short term results.
